My Mane Tane

We chose to write about a wonderful Mana Tane in our lives.
My Mana Tane is my dad. He’s 6′ 5. He has brown eyes and his hair is always messy. He likes to wear gray and brown clothing. He has some tattoos. He likes to talk about his truck a lot. He likes Burger King. He never plays with a soccer ball because rugby is the best. He likes to watch a movie with me and he likes to go to the field and play rugby with me.
I chose my dad because my dad is cool and I love him.

My Speech
1 WALT share our opinion about a topic in a persuasive way and present this as a speech

I think I should be the principal of Paparore School. I would let students have more activities like water balloon fights. I would make morning tea and lunch longer. I would get a class pet for every class. I should be the principal. Firstly I would let the kids have more fun activities like water balloon fights and I would put a bike track at school. I would put a water slide in and a new playground. It would be a great part of the school and I would make a waterslide on the glass. I would have water balloon fights so if you’re hot, you can cool off. How would you feel you were principal? Secondly I would make morning tea and lunch longer so kids can play with their friends and you can have more time. I would put a water slide in the school pool and I would let the kids go in the pool at morning tea and lunch time. What would you do if you principal? Finally I would give every class a class pet that are cute and fuzzy. If you are feeling super mad you can hold the pet and it would make you chill out. It would make you feel nice inside. I think I should be the principal of Paparore School. I would let students have more activities like water balloon fights. I would make morning tea and lunch longer. I would get a class pet for every class. I should be the principal. |
That Was My Holiday

Pink shirt
Pink Shirt Day is a day about anti-bullying and is every year!
Pink Shirt Day it is a bully free day where people wear pink and talk about why it is important to stand up to bullies. It is an important day because it a bully free day.
We take part in Pink Shirt Day by standing up to bullies and everyone wears pink.
Pink Shirt Day matters because people need to stand up to bullies.
Plastic is NOT fantastic

We have been learning about plastic pollution and how it affects the ocean and its creatures. We wrote a letter to someone in our whānau to encourage them to use less plastic.
Dear Mum,
Did you know that every piece of plastic still exists? If you leave plastic on the beach, turtles can eat it and die!
The class is doing a class challenge, we have got 1078 pieces of rubbish already. It is crazy that the class has picked up so many pieces of rubbish.
Instead of using plastic pegs, use metal pegs. Instead of using plastic bags use paper bags.
Together, I know we can make a difference to our environment.
